the next casting Sunday is the 4th of august 2024 and with the top field out of action as the grass is too long we are left with the lower field. Hence the problem if its a southly wind we cant use the lower field as we be casting towards the house, the forecast is for a south wind so we have two choices cancel the meet or go plug day, the choice is yours

today was round two of the members league which means it was 150g day. With a southwest breeze forecast we set up in the top field which meant casting on a slope added to the fact the grass had grown again, this meant casts had to altered to clear the grass meaning a higher backswing. The rain held off for once and as for the breeze it kept fading every time someone went to cast, it seemed as if we weren't meant to cast. Despite the conditions being against us once again we made the best of it and two members managed to get a pb, while others caught the grass hurting ourselves in the process. Well done to Stevie on the win even with Graeme hot on his heels.

results for 21/7/2024 150g day

Stevie = 239y

Graeme = 230y pb

MC = 224y

Louis = 210y pb

Tommy = 196y

Today was the first day casting snice the 12th of may and boy did the rust show. Lots of casts going out of court but by the end of the day everyone found the court, quite a few reels have to be fixed after been blown up, isn't that right Louis. Now for the weather, it started off dry and with a northwest breeze forecasted we set up in the lower flatter field casting away from the farm building, the breeze quickly changed direction then died off completely we also had a few rain showers with members being caught out and got soaked to the bone, poor Graeme. Anyway the rods where dusted off and slow reels put on to suit the conditions, while pleasant didn't help much on the casting. We had a new face today as Bobby Laughlin joined us for a few pointers, hope we helped mate and come back anytime. Bobby did make the mistake of pulling his best cast before we could measure it but it was around 125yards. Seeing as today was designated as 150g practice day for our upcoming members event, which is in two weeks, most of us got a few casts on that lead before moving to lighter stuff. well done to Stevie who did really well on he 175g in bad conditions and judging by todays results the 150g competition could see a close battle for second place, unless Graeme's new style come together(south American high reel)
