today was our 125g event for which 5 members turned out to cast. The forecast was for a dry morning with winds up to 18mph going in a south east direction, this meant casting up the hill but from a flat oche for a change. As it was a competition we only have 10 casts, which was a good thing as a few members were injured, Tommy's shoulder was playing up and Louis had put his back out, I hope you boys heal up quickly. The start of the day the wind was light but grew in strength but changed direction as we got the the last 3 rounds, it started to go across the court blowing lines out to the left. Well done to Graeme on the win and to Louis who on his last cast managed to steal 3rd place. Once again thanks to all who helped set up and take down the court.

today we managed to get back into our usual field and with a forecasted wind of a southwest direction we set up the oche for casting down the hill. The weather forecast was wrong instead of dry and bright we got a heavy shower early on and the wind was due west so across the court all day, the wind died off from time to time and even blew into our faces. Despite the forecast being wrong we made the best of it and had a great day casting and of course the craic was flying. It was good to see Benny back up at the field and almost fully recovered from his injuries. Thanks to all who helped with the court.

PS its 125g day in two weeks.

next Sunday the 15th of September will hopefully be a normal field day as the grass should have been lifted, but as always pack the plug gear just in case it isn't

with the grass cut but not lifted we were restricted to the middle field and with the forecasted wind direction going towards the farmhouse it meant we could cast leads, so another plug day was had. The weather wasn't the greatest with a light breeze and a light rain but that didn't stop us. anyhow the court was set up for plug and it wasn't long before we were casting. There was 4 members today so the rounds came quickly and it was long until lunch time, we casted on for another hour of so but heavy rain due we packed up early and went home. Thanks to all who help set up and take down the court.

results all 18g plug

Louis = 93y

Tommy = 91y

MC = 94y

Graeme = 85y

with the normal field being used to grow silage we are at the mercy of the wind as the other fields can only be used in a northly wind. So todays wind was a south west going to west later which meant we had to use the lower fields and lave the leads at home, that's right folks we where chucking plastic plugs. It took a few casts to get the timing right as its been a long while since we last casted the 18g plug and with only 3 members today the rounds were quick as we didn't have to walk too far. Two of us managed pb's so well done all. Thanks for the help setting up and taking down of the court lads.

next sunday is meant to be a normal field day but with the grass uncut we may be in the lower fields, so my advice is when you pack your gear pack the plug casting rod and reels too
